Cymatics & Chladni Figures
This stuff fascinates me....
"Cymatics reveals a strange & beautiful symmetry at work in nature."
We live in a world where everything is frequency at its core. You see this and you understand why going to live music shows are so AWESOME!
Cymatic music explores patterns in vibration. Patterns we can hear (music) and sonic patterns we can see. How can we see sound? When physical matter is vibrated with sound, certain geometric symmetries manifest.
Ernst Chladni (1756-1827) German musician and scientist, sometimes known as 'the father of acoustics,' He used a sand-strewn brass plate, excited by a violin bow; since brass is a highly resonant material he found that a large number of archetypal geometric patterns could be created, depending on where on the edge of the plate the bow was drawn. These patterns are now known as 'Chladni Figures.'
